This character animation project was developed as part of a university design course. The brief involved creating an original cartoon character and bringing it to life through a short-form animation. The resulting character was a playful, round-bottom flask filled with orange juice—blending a scientific object with a vibrant, fun twist.
The character was designed to feel quirky and expressive, using fluid motion and vibrant orange tones to reflect energy and optimism. I developed a complete storyboard and style frames to explore its personality, movement, and setting, building a visual world that felt imaginative but grounded.
The animation process encompassed storyboard development, screenplay writing, key pose planning, and final motion production. The completed piece ran for 90 seconds and followed a simple, light-hearted narrative centred on curiosity and transformation. Adobe After Effects and Illustrator were the primary tools used throughout production.
The project offered practical experience in visual storytelling and character-led animation. It also provided insight into how motion, timing, and expression can be used to convey emotion, without relying on dialogue.
